VIV PADAYATCHY
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Dr Viv Padayatchy is the founder and Managing Director of Cybernaptics Ltd. In his past professional life, he was Chief Information Officer of the Cim Group, Chairman of the African Network Information Centre (Afrinic) and Executive Director—Operations and Information Technology at the Mauritius Freeport Development Company Ltd (MFD). In 2006 -2007, he was a Senior Lecturer (part time) at the University of Technology Mauritius, teaching “Internet Business Strategy” as part of an MBA program from the School of Management. During the same period, Dr Padayatchy served as a Panel Expert of the Industry Technical Advisory Committee (ITAC) of the Mauritius Qualifications Authority (MQA). Dr Padayatchy holds a joint BSc (Hons) degree in Chemistry and Computer Science from the University of Reading (UK). He was awarded a PhD in 1994 by the same University for his research work on semi-conducting materials which was fully funded by the UK Department of Defence. After working in Hong Kong in the field of Information Technology from 1994 to 1997, he returned to Mauritius in 1998.
Dr Padayatchy is currently serving as a member of the Senate of the University of Mauritius. His career in Information Technology spans 25 years.
